Our promise to the end user is therefore that every part that is delivered by RTD Mining is of a comparable quality as the original. We have our own R&D department that is continuously searching for improvements of our own products based on feedback from the field. Complete undercarriages
You do not have to perform an overhaul during every service in relation to the entire undercarriage of the machine. In practice, one undercarriage part will wear more quickly than another.

You can also decide to perform a partial overhaul that consists of replacing track links, bolts, nuts and sprockets. This overhaul is a cost-aware option that will depend on the quality of the rollers. The overhaul of track links, bolts, nuts and sprockets always takes place at the same time. But do remember: the track link and therefore also the sprockets will wear considerably faster if they run over the running surfaces of rollers that are no longer new and will therefore last for a much shorter time. You will make a durable choice when you always change the rollers when the sprockets and track links are worn.

A standard undercarriage overhaul therefore consists of replacing the track links, bolts, nuts, top and bottom rollers and sprockets.

A complete undercarriage overhaul may also include replacing track guides, idlers, track shoes and tensioning units. These parts usually last longer. We, at RTD Mining, therefore also recommend checking these parts during the disassembly of the undercarriage. You can then check whether the parts must be replaced or not.

80-20 rule
It is important to regularly carry out check in relation to your machine to prevent high costs in relation to the undercarriage. If you repair or overhaul your undercarriage on time, this may save you a lot of time and costs.

In outline, we use the following cost ratios: When a machine is produced, the costs consist of 20% of production costs on the undercarriage and 80% of production costs in relation to the rest of the machine. During the lifespan of the machine, this is the other way round. The costs will then be 80% in overhaul costs to the undercarriage and 20% in maintenance costs to the rest of the machine.
